For its very first ever adidas collaboration, Dime chose the classic Superstar for its rich history in skateboarding, basketball, and fashion alike. Bringing together these iconic properties, Dime opted to work with the classic colours that make this silhouette so famous and hone in on the materials and design details to weave their own narrative throughout the silhouette.
Dime worked to implement their ‘wave-design’ across the whole collection, with it strikingly implemented vertically up the rear heel of the Superstar and embedded across the three stripes. Tongue artwork is a de-bossed tonal restoration graphic, which Dime first adopted as a jigsaw puzzle back in 2019. Thus, providing the Dime tradition of bringing a humorous aspect to everything they do. Dime branding features on the right heel tab, left upper and beneath the translucent outsole.
The adidas x Dime track jacket adopts the same philosophy as the footwear, keep it classic. The Superfire track top pairs perfectly with the Superstar and weaves the same historically connected story. Simply put, an iconic adidas staple that is ready for the Dime touch. Alongside the footwear, Dime has adapted their wave design to subtly show up on both the track top and track pants, alongside other details they have created timeless pieces that could reference any decade since the 80s.
With adidas and Dime co-branding on the leading left breast, and the tonal restoration graphic patch transferred to the mid-right arm, it gently spaces out all the logo design, whilst not being overbearing. Bring in Dime’s wave design that is graphically introduced to the lower-left sleeve stripes, and then across the right front and mid-back cut line. These details reference the heel of the footwear in a very connected way. In all and you have an intelligent design that transfers a clean and modern twist on a classic and timeless track top.
The Dime x adidas Superfire track pants finish off the capsule look, worn individually or as a matching tracksuit, they can be tailored up to make a bold statement or paired down with sneakers for a subtle sign-off. Either way, they are an iconic piece and again, offer a timeless option.
The pant adopts all the hallmark design attributes as the rest of the collection - metallic gold co-branding leads on the upper left leg, restoration graphic patch on the right leg and the same wave-design graphic on the left half-leg three stripes. The cut is classic and loose track pant style, featuring two zipped waist pockets on the front and an open style pocket on the rear-right.
